Cake Options

Customized cakes mean not only the outside of cakes. Inside of them also can be customized. In our childhood times, bakery shops were preparing the cakes with classic vanilla or chocolate flavors. But the bakery concept has changed with globalisation and technology. Now we have many types of cakes and we can easily access any recipe or ingredient.

What kind of cake options can be used for customized cakes?

There is a wide range of choices for this. Almost every type of cake is possible to use inside, unless it is syrupy. For example:

-Brownie (e.g. Oreo brownie, white chocolate brownie)

-Sponge cake (with vanilla, chocolate etc. flavor or natural / artificial colored)

-Walnut, hazelnut, pecan cake

Spice cake

-Fruit cake

-Marble cake

But classic vanilla cake is still the most preferred one. Here is one of the good vanilla cake recipe:

Vanilla Cake

3 large eggs

1 1/2 cup of granulated sugar

2 cup of cake flour

1 cup of milk

1 stick softened butter

2 3/4 teaspoons baking powder

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

A pinch of salt

Tricks: For fluffy cake, use room temperatured eggs. If you can use two separate cake pans, both pieces will be same size and you don’t need to slice into two halves.

Mix cake flour, salt and baking powder. In a separate bowl, whisk the softened butter and granulated sugar. Then, whisk eggs with them too. Add dry ingredients to eggs. With the mixer on low speed gradually pour in the batter. Continue to beat the batter just until all the flour is incorporated. Take extra care to not overmix. Add milk and vanilla extract. Spray cake pans with oil or use baking paper and divide the cake batter exactly between the two pans. Bake at 375F oven for 25 minutes.
